According to Apple, some features on the back of your Apple Watch require skin contact if you want the best results. These features include wrist sensing, a haptic motor, and electrical and optical heart sensors.
If your Apple Watch won’t stay in place, or the sensors won’t read your heart rate, you need to tighten the strap a bit. Please note that your Apple Watch should be comfortable but comfortable.
Apple Watch sensors are designed to be worn on the top of the wrist. Users of other wrist fitness products found that they did not work the ankle. However, there are some people who think that the Apple Watch is not limited to the wrist only.
What has to happen?
While much of the Apple Watch’s fitness capabilities come from internal components like an accelerometer to measure motion or detect a fall, there are also a variety of sensors behind it. Similarly, Apple also claims that the Apple Watch’s sensors work properly only when the upper part of the wrist is against the skin. If you have a smaller wrist, you’ll need to find a way to adjust the strap so that it fits properly. You may be familiar with adding extra adjustment holes to older watch straps, but it’s more difficult to do it yourself with Apple faces.
Perhaps an unexpected suggestion from Apple is that you can tighten your band while you exercise and loosen it afterward. This helps with the sensor during workouts but also prevents potential skin irritation.
You can’t wear your fitness tracker on your ankle
There’s no reason you can’t wear your fitness tracker on your ankle. Just keep in mind that fitness trackers, including the Apple Watch, may not be able to easily and accurately detect your activity.
However, there are some situations where you cannot wear your Apple Watch on your wrist. After all, there are activities that limit the location of the doll.
As you know, there are many different sports and workouts. The point is, you don’t want to wear an Apple Watch on your wrist. An example of this is kick-boxing. It’s a high-energy exercise, but the gloves completely cover your wrists.
In this case, if you don’t feel like taking off your Apple Watch and your training data is missing, you might consider putting it on your ankle.
But the thing is, Apple Watch straps are small and may not fit around the ankle.
Alternative ways to use Apple Watch

Wear it: Take off your Apple Watch and turn it upside down so that the digital crown is on your elbow instead of your hand. Next, open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, and in My Watch view, tap General> Watch Orientation and turn the Digital Crown from side to side.
This setting makes it easy to move and press the digital crown with your thumb. On the downside, the crown can dig into your arm.
Can You Wear Apple Watch On Your Ankle, Out of the box, the Apple Watch Sport has a shorter band piece with a metal peg at the top, as well as a longer band piece and its shaped holes at the bottom?
You can move them if you want. To do this for each piece, press and hold the small button on the back of the Apple Watch body and slide the band out of its slot. Then simply reinsert each part of the band into the other slot. It feels a bit strange at first, but it works too.
Why this? You may find it easier to set up the Apple Watch this way because you can hold the top band with your fingers and then place your thumb on the peg to push it into the hole of the desired size.
This method can snag the arm hair or pinch the skin differently when you slide the end of the band into the slot. For some of us, it was more painful.
