What is Apple’s official advice?

Check that your iPhone speakers are working

If you are not sure if your iPhone speakers are working properly, there is a very quick way to check.

Go to your iPhone’s Settings app and click on “Sounds” or “Sounds & Haptics” depending on the iOS you are running. Move the “Ring and Alerts” slider back and forth several times.

It should produce a ringtone sound at different volume levels. If you don’t hear any sound, or if the speaker button on the “Ring and Alerts” slider is grayed out, the speaker may need service, so you should contact Apple.

Use a brush

Brushes are great for poking small holes in your MacBook speakers so you can clean them thoroughly. Use a small, soft brush, such as a toothbrush, to gently brush your MacBook / Laptop speakers.

Make sure the brush strokes are away from the speaker so dust doesn’t get further into the laptop. Once you’re done using the brush, get a damp, lint-free cloth to collect excess dust from the MacBook grill.

Start by making sure your MacBook is turned off and the battery has been removed. Gently clean the MacBook speaker. Then dampen the cloth, strain to remove excess water, and wipe the MacBook speaker with a damp cloth. You can also use toothpicks to remove dirt from the speaker holes.

Air compressors can help

The air compressor is a great way to fix the MacBook Pro speaker creak, but it requires you to be very careful. Keep the pressure low and at the proper angle. Otherwise, you will end up damaging other parts.

At first, at low pressure, vent the outside of the holes 1-2 times. After that, blow air into the speaker.

Keep your hand at least 1 foot away from the laptop. Add a finishing touch by wiping the speaker with a damp cloth.

How to clean speaker grille

Similar to cleaning the ports on a MacBook, it’s important to be extremely careful when cleaning the speaker grille. Avoid pouring liquids into the holes and do not use compressed air. Consider using a laptop cleaning brush, but do so lightly to avoid damaging the speaker or smudging a mess.

If you see an outage, your best option is to contact a local Apple Store or an authorized Apple service provider through the Genius Bar. However, not all Apple Stores can provide cleaning services.

Cleaning your MacBook regularly can help keep your laptop looking its best, but it can also help it run better. Protect your device by using safe cleaning products and taking extreme care. Do not use harsh or unfamiliar chemicals on your MacBook screen, keyboard or touchpad.

Inspect and clean the interior

With the bottom cover on, you now have access to your MacBook’s internal components. Take the time to inspect everything for dust buildup. You probably won’t have to work that hard.

Next, locate the cooling fan.

You may have more than one, depending on your specific model, but they are easy to identify. Just look at what looks like a circular black turbine. Most likely, dust will accumulate as the cooling fans draw air from the surrounding area. So if your home is particularly dusty, you may have a huge cleaning task ahead of you.

MacBook keyboard cleaning tips

How To Clean MacBook Speakers, Cleaning the keyboard is probably the most important thing because, over time, dirt can accumulate on the outside. Keeping your keys clean can help prevent bacteria build-up and make them easier to use.

·       Turn off your computer.

·       Unplug the power adapter and all other accessories.

·       Hold the laptop at a 75-degree angle. It should not be completely vertical.

·       Spray the keyboard with compressed air from left to right.

·       Turn your laptop so that it is on its side and spray it from left to right.

·       Flip it over to the other side and spray from left to right.

By doing this regularly, your keyboard stays clean and your keys don’t stick. Keep all liquids out of the MacBook opening, as the Apple Product Warranty or AppleCare Protection Plan does not cover water damage.
