Ray tracing is officially coming to Fortnite today. Nvidia compatible players and GPUs using DirectX12 can now enable ray tracing and Nvidia’s DLSS feature.
The update comes with all the usual improvements you’d expect from ray tracing. The main ones are better reflections and shadows, but also ambient occlusion and global illumination in real-time.
But don’t take our word for it. Nvidia collaborated with Creative Mode to create a custom minigame map that’s supposed to showcase all those new features. It’s basically a giant museum full of small challenges, all wrapped up in a shiny, highly reflective package.
