A common tip for home users struggling with wireless coverage is to purchase a wireless repeater, often also known as an extender or amplifier. This is a small device that can send Wi-Fi signals to areas of the house with little or no coverage.
A Wi-Fi repeater is often touted as a quick and inexpensive solution to your wireless network coverage problems. But sadly, there is a chance that an iterator will not solve the problem and therefore it is a waste of money.
So let’s read this article till and you will get your answer to How to Work Xiaomi Wifi Repeater Review. I have explained every detail step by step.
The amplifier looks professional. Xiaomi has departed from the idea of the amplifier as a USB “stick”. Now we have a device that we plug directly into the socket. Of course, we need an adapter for this, because the plug is Chinese.
The Xiaomi WiFi Amplifier is made of good quality plastic and is black in color. On both sides of the device, we will find additional antennas that can be positioned independently. There is a light on the front, which tells us about the status of the device. The Xiaomi reset hole is hidden at the bottom of the device. However, they could have thought better as it is difficult to reach.

How does Xiaomi WiFi Repeater work?
With a single-band wireless connection, the Xiaomi WiFi Range Extender Pro and its predecessor can significantly improve the wireless signal. While dual-band devices offer better performance, Xiaomi’s WiFi repeaters have exceptional single-band performance.
With a 2.4GHz connection, the Xiaomi WiFi Repeater also maximizes compatibility so that all your devices can connect to it without problems.
Most WiFi repeaters struggle with fast connections, but not the Xiaomi WiFi Range Extender Pro. Xiaomi WiFi repeaters offer you the best of both worlds.
With Xiaomi’s WiFi Repeater, you can experience wide area coverage and no dead zones while getting the speed you pay for. You can get speeds of up to 300 Mbps anywhere in your home or office.
Thanks to their small form factor, Xiaomi’s WiFi repeaters are also very portable, taking up less space and using much less power than a typical WiFi extender.
Weighing only 125 grams, the Xiaomi WiFi Range Extender Pro is extremely light and portable, despite being the heaviest in Xiaomi’s line of WiFi repeaters.
On average, low-cost WiFi repeaters can support a very limited number of simultaneous connections. While the expensive options can allow you to connect up to 32 devices at the same time, Xiaomi’s WiFi repeaters offer the best combination of cost-effective connectivity.
Supporting up to 16 simultaneous connections, Xiaomi’s WiFi repeaters should have plenty of connectivity for all your smart devices: your smartphone, your laptop included.
Configuration: Easy to use
The configuration of Mi WiFi Extender Pro is the same process as the previous Mi WiFi Extender. Just plug it in, download the Mi Home app, and search for “WiFi Extender Pro” in the device list. You will be prompted to connect to the extender’s WiFi network and then let it do its job.
Once the setup is complete, the indicator light will change from flashing yellow to solid blue. If not, it means that the setup has failed and you need to repeat the process again. Please note that the Pro does not support 5GHz WiFi, so the setup process will fail if you try.
Once connected, you will stay connected to your home WiFi network even if you disconnect it. To change the WiFi network, press and hold the reset button along with the PIN, and the light should turn yellow, indicating that it is ready for setup again.
You can do many things in the application. You can enable WiFi roaming, allowing you to use the same network name as the original WiFi network, and allowing a seamless transition between router and extender networks when moving around the house.
You can then change the name and password of the extender’s WiFi network from within the app. Also, you can check which devices are connected to the extender. There are a few more features available in the app, but I won’t cover them here.

Radio repeaters cut in half
If your repeater only has a wireless radio, it will typically be in the 2.4 GHz frequency band. The repeater will use half the time to communicate with wireless clients and the remaining half to transmit traffic to the router.
This means that the capacity will be cut in half, so you can only send half the amount of data that you can send if you communicate directly with the access point at the same speed.
This type of repeater would require all clients to be connected to the 2.4 GHz band, which has a lot of interference. Therefore, new clients that support the 802.11ac or 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) standards and the 5 GHz band cannot take advantage of this new technology.
It is worth paying attention to the fact that despite the “Pro” note, the amplifier only supports 2.4 GHz networks. If you want to increase the range of the 5 GHz network, then I have bad news for you. As a result, Xiaomi’s WiFi amplifier does not support the speed of 300Mbps. With its capabilities, it will reach speeds of around 20-30Mbps.
